Dispersants
Dispersants
For ceramics and metal materials
NOF’s dispersants for ceramics and metal materials create a fine and uniform state of dispersion for inorganic pigment particles, which tend to be difficult to disperse in liquids. This prevents the sedimentation or aggregation of the pigments, contributing to the long-term stability of paste and slurry.
To adapt a variety of pigments and solvents, NOF is developing dispersants with a focus on molecular weight, type of adsorbent group, and solubility in solvents.
NOF’s dispersants are used in a wide range of applications, including ceramic capacitors and other electronic components, batteries, and heat dissipating boards. NOF has a strong track record in dispersants for metal oxides and metal materials, and also supports the micronization of powders.
MALIALIM® series and MALIALIM® SC series
The MALIALIM® and MALIALIM® SCseries consist of multi-functional comb type polymers which have ionic groups on the main chain, grafted with polyoxyalkylene chains.
MALIALIM® series shows an excellent dispersing property for various pigments by having the ionic group that works as adsorption group for pigment surface and having grafted chains that give control of solubility in the solvent and steric repulsion effect.
The main chain length of MALIALIM® SC series is shorter than that of conventional MALIALM™ series, that enables them to disperse the pigments with smaller particle size (<1μm).

MALIALIM® FA series
The MALIALIM® FA series consists of multi-functional comb type polymers which have ionic groups on the main chain, grafted with polyoxyalkylene chains.
The main chain length of MALIALIM® FA series is shorter than that of the MALIALIM® SC series. This enables MALIALIM® FA to show an excellent dispersing property for fine pigments with <100 nm particle size, prevent pigment aggregation, and lower viscosity in dispersing systems.
