Branched PEGs

NOF provides 2-arm activated branched PEGs, as illustrated below. We offer these PEGs with a molecular weight of 20kDa, 40kDa, 60kDa and 80kDa. The available functional groups are amino, aldehyde, maleimide, NHS activated carbonate and NHS activated ester.

Furthermore, NOF has also developed activated branched PEGs, such as 3-arm and 4-arm branched derivatives.

2-arm Branched PEG (SUNBRIGHT® GL2 Series)

2-arm activated branched PEGs can introduce two PEG chains into pharmaceutical substances by a single linkage and improve the pharmacokinetic profile of the pharmaceutical substances efficiently. (Yulia V. et al., Bioconjugate Chem., 23, 1452(2012))
2-arm activated branched PEGs have already been used in some marketed PEGylated drugs.

3-arm activated branched PEGs, to which another PEG spacer is introduced to 2-arm activated branched PEGs, show a higher reactivity with pharmaceutical substances.

4-arm Branched PEG (SUNBRIGHT® GL4 Series)

4-arm activated branched PEGs can reduce the viscosity of the relevant aqueous solutions, by introducing a larger number of branching points even without altering the molecular weight.
