Acrylic binders

Acrylic binders

NOF’s binders for printing conductive paste and ceramic molding are based on acrylic polymers. A variety of molecular designs are possible according to the application.
For printing conductive paste use, our binders can be used to obtain appropriate printing properties by giving a suitable level of thixotropy to pastes, that achieves the suppression of acrylic thread-forming problem.
For ceramic molding use, our binders can be dissolved in various solvents, allowing for high strength and uniform molding.
In addition, our binders offer advantages such as having an excellent thermal decomposition property, resulting in low carbon residue and the ability to lower sintering temperature.

MARPROOF™ MH series

Binders for sheet forming

The MARPROOF™ MH series are acrylic binders designed for high strength. This series of acrylic binders offers excellent sheet forming and thermal decomposition properties.

Features

  • Soluble in various solvents and the ceramic sheets formed demonstrate high strength.
  • Shows a good thermal decomposition property under both air and a nitrogen atmosphere.
  • Good heat decomposition under low temperature - Low-temperature sintering, less calcined residue
  • High tensile strength comparable to PVB and EC

Application

  • Green sheets for MLCCs
  • Ceramic substrates

MARPROOF™ AM-515

Binder additive for metal paste

MARPROOF™ AM-515 is an adhesion improver for metal conductive paste for screen printing. AM-515 is highly compatible with ethyl cellulose, which is used as a binder for screen printing paste. The use of AM-515 together with ethyl cellulose can improve adhesion with substrate sheets. In addition, AM-515 provides a good thermal decomposition property because it is based on acrylic polymer. The amount of carbon residue can also be reduced.

Features

  • MARPROOF™ AM-515 shows good compatibility with Ethyl Cellurose, that enables to obtain uniform printed film.
  • Improves adhesion between substrates and metal conductive paste.
  • Shows a good thermal decomposition property under both air and a nitrogen atmosphere, and reduces the amount of carbon residue derived from ethyl cellulose.
  • Good printing performance good solubility with ethyl cellulose
  • Excellent adhesive strength between electrode layer and dielectric sheet during manufacturing
  • Good heat decomposition during calcination

Application

  • Metal paste
  • Multi-layer ceramic chip electronic components
